The Tun
Thomas Wells and Francis Leonard issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for their business, the Bell tavern, in Old Street, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2171; Obv inscription: THO.WELLES.FRA.LEONARD (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A tun (in field); Rev inscription: THE.BELL.IN.OVLD.STRET (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A bell (in field).
