The Horseshoe
Robert Farmer, a coalman, issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business in Milford Lane, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 1899; Obv inscription: ROBERT.FARMER.COLEMAN (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A horseshoe (in field); Rev inscription: IN.MILFORD.LANE.1668 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HIS / HALFE / PENNY / R.F (in four lines of Roman capitals, in field).
