The Half Moon
Thomas Jackson issued this trade token, worth a farthing, for his business at the sign of the Crescent Moon in Lewknors Lane (now Macklin Street), Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 1858; Obv inscription: THO.IACKSON.AT.YE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = T.I.I. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field); Rev inscription: IN.LVTENERS.LANE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A crescent moon (in field).
Lewknors Lane, subsequently Charles Street, now Macklin Street, lay in Holborn, Middlesex; it now lies in the London Borough of Camden.
