Token, trade token
This trade token, worth a farthing, was issued by a bodice maker, for thier business in Holywell Street (now part of the Strand).
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 1495; Obv inscription: AT.THE.BODY.MAKER (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = W.S (in field, in Roman capitals); Rev inscription: HOLYWELL.STRET (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A bodice or pair of stays (in field).
