The Bull's Head
michael Wright issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business at the Bull's Head tavern, in Holborn, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 1486; Obv inscription: MICHAEL.WRIGHT.AT.THE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A bull's head (in field); Rev inscription: BVLL.HEAD.IN.HOLBORNE.67 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HIS / HALFE / PENNY / M.E.W. (in four lines of Roman capitals with triad of initials as bottom, in field).
Holborn, was formerly part of Middlesex, and now lies within the London Borough of Camden.
