The Hare
Richard Underwood, a poulterer issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business in Holborn, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 1475; Obv inscription: RICHARD / VNDERWOOD / HIS. HALFE / PENNY / R.E.V. (in five lines of Roman capitals with triad of initials as bottom, in field); Rev inscription: IN.HOLBORN.POVLTERER (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A hare running (in field).

Holborn, was formerly part of Middlesex, and now lies within the London Borough of Camden.
