The Globe Tavern
Anthony Buggins issued this trade token, worth a farthing, half penny, for his business at the Globe tavern, in Holborn, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 1381; Obv inscription: ANTHONY.BVGGIN.AT.THE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A.M.B. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field); Rev inscription: GLOBE.TAVERN.IN.HOLBVRNE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A globe on a stand (in field).
