The King's Arms
William Blow issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business at the King's Arms tavern, in Holborn, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 1370; Obv inscription: WILLIAM.BLOW.AT.YE.KINGS (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HIS / HALFE / PENY (in three lines of Roman capitals, in field); Rev inscription: ARMES.IN.HOLBARNE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = The royal arms crowned (in field).
Holborn, was formerly part of Middlesex, and now lies within the London Borough of Camden.
