The Tallow Chandler
Timothy Halsey issued this trade token, worth a farthing, for his business in Gray's Inn Lane (now Gray's Inn Road), Holborn, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 1250; Obv inscription: TIMOTHEY.HALSEY (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A tallowchandler (in field); Rev inscription: IN.GRAISEN.LANE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = T.S.H. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
