The White Lion
This trade token, worth a half penny, was issued at the White Lion tavern, in Goswell Street, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 1191; Obv inscription: AT.YE.WHIT.LOYON.IN (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A lion rampant (in field); Rev inscription: GOOSWEELL.STREET (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = R.A.F. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
