The Tobacco Roll
Arthur Hunt issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business in East Smithfield, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 929A; Obv inscription: ARTHER.HVNT.1666 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A tobacco roll (in field); Rev inscription: IN.EAST.SMITHFEILD (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HIS / HALF / PENY (in three lines of Roman capitals, in field).
