The Fortune
Walter Lee issued this trade token, worth a farthing, for his business at the sign of the goddess Fortune, in Drury Lane, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 874; Obv inscription: WALTER.LEE.FORTVNE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = Fortune standing in a shell, her robe for a sail (in field); Rev inscription: IN.DRVRY.LANE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = W.M.L. (triad of initials in field, in Roman capitals).
