The Angel
John Minchin, a baker, issued this trade token, worth a farthing, for his business in Covent Garden, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 742A; Obv inscription: IOHN / MINCHIN / BAKER (in three lines of Roman capitals, in field); Rev inscription: IN.COVENT.GARDEN.1652 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = An angel (in field).
