Saxon & Medieval — Late Medieval; 14th-15th century
Badge, pilgrim badge
Part of an openwork pilgrim badge from and unknown shrine. This fragment appears to have the figure of a bishop on the left-hand side (head missing). His right hand is raised in blessing and his left hand may be holding a staff. On the right-hand side of the badge is a circular frame. Several saints were depicted as bishops on the pilgrim souvenirs from their shrines. It is not certain which saint is represented here.
