The Wheatsheaf
Nicholas Smith issued this trade token, worth a half penny, at his premises in Baldwyn's Garden (near Gray's Inn Lane, now Gray's Inn Road), Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 106; Obv inscription: NICHOLAS.SMITH.1666 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A wheatsheaf (in field); Rev inscription: IN.BALDWYNS.GARDEN (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = N.H.S ½ (triad of initials in Roman capitals above ½, in field).
