Bracelet, mourning bracelet
Child's mourning hair bracelet of expanding woven tubular hairwork, finished with gilt metal mounts and a heart shaped pendant. The bracelet is probably woven with the hair of a dead relative, perhaps a parent or sibling. Children who lost close family members were expected to participate in the rituals of mourning.
