Hook, dockers pad hook
Dockers' hook, from a group of dock and cargo handling tools and equipment originally collected by the National Dock Labour Board and given to the Museum of London Docklands by the Transport and General Workers Union in 1989, along with some archive material. This type of hook, also known as the 'scratcher', has a metal pad inset with brads, which was used for gripping finely packed bag or case cargo where the use of a single or double hook would cause damage.
