Tipstaff, policeman's tipstaff
This silver and wooden tipstaff was presented to Captain Bartlett on his appointment as Captain of the Watch and Head Constable to the West India Dock Police force in 1802. The details of the presentation are engraved on the silver tip which is hallmarked 1802.
