Reconstructed near complete decorated samian ware bowl, form Dragendorff 29, stamp: OF[PASSI]ENI inside base, the mark of the potter Pass(i)enus of La Graufesenque, South Gaul. Decorative motifs include, medallions with rosette within, beaded border with leaf-tip block design, and panel decoration with dog figure, in upper zone, with continuous gadroons in lower zone. Samian ware is high-quality Roman tableware made in Gaul (modern-day France) and exported throughout the empire. See Knorr, 1952, taf 49E.
