Bench anvil, tinman's anvil
A tinmans dome head stake from the workshop of Davey & Co, ship chandlers, in the West India Dock Road, Toer Hamlets. The stake was slotted into the hole in an anvil and used with a hammer to shape the inside of cupped or bowl-shaped metal objects.
