Phial, unguentarium
A natural blue glass phial. Moderate quality glass, with numerous small bubbles (where visible in neck). Slight weathering internally. Parts present: complete (rim, neck, body and base). Plain everted rim, regular, apparently cracked off (with chamfered profile) and gently reheated (surface fire-smooth, not ground). Very faint constriction at base of neck, with concentric tool marks. Pear-shaped body, very slightly flattened at base. The phial is currently filled with an inert reddish-pink powder (for purposes of gallery display).
Isings form 28a.
