Coin, denarius
A silver denarius coin of the Roman Republic. The coin depicts a galley and military standards. This coin was minted under the authority of the moneyer, M. Antonius (Mark Antony), at an Eastern mint, c. 32-31 BC.
Obv: A galley, advancing right. Obv inscription: [ANT] AVG III VIR RPC. Rev: Three military standards (a central eagle flanked by two signa). Rev inscription: LEG XVII. Part of a hoard from the site of Temple House, Queen Victoria Street, City of London, 1958.
