Coin, radiate
A copper alloy radiate coin of Emperor Diocletian, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 284-305. The back of the coin depicts Providentia, the female personification of foreseeing. This coin was minted in Rome, Italy, AD 284-294.
Obv: Cuirassed, draped and radiate bust of Diocletian, facing right. Obv inscription: IMP DIOCLETIANVS AVG. Rev: Providentia, standing left, holding a baton over a globe in her right hand and a cornucopia in the left. Rev inscription: PROVIDENTIA AVG, XXIΓ in exergue.
