A copper alloy as coin of Emperor Hadrian, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 117-138. The back of the coin depicts Salus, the female personification of health. This coin was minted in Rome, Italy, AD 128-132.
Obv: Laureate head of Hadrian, facing right. Obv inscription: HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS PP. Rev: Salus, standing right, feeding a serpent held in her right hand from a patera (dish) held in the left hand. Rev inscription: COS III, SC in field.
