Coin copy, radiate
A copper alloy contemporary copy of a Roman radiate coin (barbarous radiate). The back of the coin possibly depicts Laetitia, the female personification of happiness and joy. This coin was made c. AD 275-285.
Obv: Radiate bust, facing right. Obv inscription: Illegible. Rev: Laetitia? standing left, holding a rudder or an anchor. Rev inscription: ...AAVG. Part of a hoard from Newgate Street, City of London, 263.
