Coin, nummus AE4
A copper alloy nummus of Emperor Gratian, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 367-383. The back of the coin depicts Victoria, the Roman goddess of victory. This coin was minted in Lugdunum (modern day Lyon, France), AD 364-378.
Obv: Draped, diademed bust of Gratian, facing right. Obv inscription: DN GRATIANVS AVGG AVG. Rev: Victory, advancing right, holding a wreath in her right hand and a palm in the left. Rev inscription: SECVRITAS REIPVBLICAE, OF I in field, LVGP. in exergue.
