Coin, nummus
A copper alloy nummus of the House of Constantine, the ruling dynasty of the Roman Empire, AD 306-364. Struck to commemorate the deceased emperor Constantine I, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 306-337. The back of the coin depicts Constantine on a quadriga. This coin was minted in Antioch (modern day Antakya, Turkey), AD 337-341.
Obv: Veiled head of Constantine I, facing right. Obv inscription: DV CONSTANTINVS P T AVGG. Rev: Constantine, standing in a quadriga, ascending towards the hand of God. Rev inscription: SMANΔ in exergue
