Coin, nummus AE3
A copper alloy nummus of Emperor Maximian, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 286-305. The back of the coin depicts the prince and Jupiter, king of the Roman gods. This coin was minted in Cyzicus (in modern day Balıkesir Province, Turkey), AD 295-299.
Obv: Cuirassed and radiate head of Maximian, facing right. Obv inscription: IMP C MA MAXIMIANVS P F AVG. Rev: Prince, standing right, receiving a small victory on a globe from Jupiter, standing left, holding a vertical sceptre in his left hand. Rev inscription: CONCORDIA MILITVM, KE in field (centre).
