Coin, radiate
A silver radiate coin of Empress Otacilia Severa, wife of Philip I, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 244-249. The back of the coin depicts Concordia, the Roman goddess of understanding and marital harmony. This coin was minted in Rome, Italy, AD 248-249.
Obv: Draped and diademed bust of Otacilia Severa, facing right, on crescent. Obv inscription: OTACIL SEVERA AVG. Rev: Concordia, seated left, holding a patera (dish) in her right hand and a cornucopia in the left, to the left is an altar. Rev inscription: CONCORDIA AVGG. This coin may be part of a hoard from Lime Street, City of London.
