Coin, radiate
A silver radiate coin of Emperor Philip I, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 244-249. The back of the coin depicts Aequitas, the female personification of fair-dealing. This coin was minted in Rome, Italy, AD 244-247.
Obv: Draped, cuirassed and radiate bust of Philip I, facing right. Obv inscription: IMP M IVL PHILIPPVS AVG. Rev: Aequitas, standing left, holding scales in her right hand and a cornucopia in the left. Rev inscription: AEQVITAS AVGG. This coin may be part of a hoard from Lime Street, City of London.
