Coin, dupondius
A copper alloy dupondius coin of Emperor Trajan, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 98-117. The back of the coin depicts Annona, the female personification of Rome's grain supply. This coin was minted in Rome, Italy, AD 104-111.
Obv: Radiate bust of Trajan, facing right, left shoulder draped. Obv inscription: [IMP CAES NE]RVAE TRAIANO AVG GER DAC PM TR P [COS V PP]. Rev: Annona, standing front, head left, holding two corn-ears over a modius with her right hand and holding a cornucopia in the left. Rev inscription: [SPQR OPT]IMO PRINCIPI, SC in field.
