Tankard
A conical tankard of pint capacity with an everted rim and decorative fillets around the base. The hollow-cast swept handle has escutcheon and flush (possibly a replacement) attachments and the thumbplate is engraved ‘Borstman’. The body is inscribed ‘Borstman /Cock & Hoop/ Gun Street /Old Artillery/ Ground’ in a shield-shaped wrigglework frame. There is a crowned ‘WR’ verification mark just below the rim to the left of the handle. There is a worn and unidentified touch inside the base. Date: c.1820 – 1840.
