Coin, dupondius
A copper alloy dupondius coin of Emperor Vespasian, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 69-79. The back of the coin depicts Victoria, the Roman goddess of victory. This coin was minted in Lugdunum (modern day Lyon, France), AD 71.
Obv: Radiate head of Vespasian, facing right. Obv inscription: IMP CAES VESPASIAN AVG COS III. Rev: Victory, advancing left, holding a shield inscribed SPQR. Rev inscription: SC in field.
