Coin, dupondius
A copper alloy dupondius coin of Emperor Nero, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 54-68. The back of the coin depicts Victoria, the Roman goddess of victory. This coin was minted in Lugdunum (modern day Lyon, France), AD 64-66.
Obv: Radiate head of Nero, facing right, small globe at point of bust. Obv inscription: NERO CLAVD CAESAR AVG GER PM TR P IMP PP. Rev: Victory, advancing left, holding a wreath in her extended right hand and a palm in the left. Rev inscription: VICTORIA AVGVSTI, SC in field, II in exergue.
