Axehead, polished axehead
Ground and polished stone axehead of pyroxene (similar to jadeite). A deep groove runs down one face to within 20 mm of the butt, and on the other face a V-mark is indented above the notch made by the groove. An early axehead possibly re-used as an amulet in a later period. Found in a Roman or medieval context.
