Finger ring, intaglio
A gold finger-ring with a flat oval green stone (chrome chalcedony or emerald) intaglio. The stone possibly depicts Ceres, the Roman goddess of agriculture and fertility, facing left, holding a dish of fruit in her right hand and probably holding corn-ears in her lowered left hand. The hoop is flat in section, and expands at the bezel. Badly chipped.
