Coin, radiate
A base silver radiate coin of Emperor Postumus, ruler of the Romano-Gallic Empire, AD 260-269. The back of the coin depicts Moneta, the female personification of riches and wealth. This coin was minted at the principle mint(s) of the Gallic Empire, AD 263-265.
Obv: Draped, cuirassed and radiate bust of Emperor Postumus facing right. Obv inscription: [IMP C] POSTVMVS P F AVG. Rev: Moneta, standing left, holding scales in her right hand and a cornucopia in the left. Rev inscription: MONETA AVG. Part of a hoard from Fenchurch Street, City of London, 1926.
