Coin, radiate
A base silver radiate coin of Empress Cornelia Salonina, wife of Emperor Gallienus (AD 253-268) and mother of Valerian II and Saloninus. The back of the coin depicts the Roman goddess Juno, protector and patron goddess of Rome and Roman women. This coin was minted in Rome, Italy, AD 253-268.
Obv: Draped and diademed bust of Salonina, facing right, on crescent. Obv inscription: [SALO]NINA AVG. Rev: Juno, standing left, holding a patera (dish) in her right hand and a vertical sceptre in her left hand. Rev inscription: IVNO CON[SERVAT].
