A replica tombstone for Celsus, Speculator of Legion II A.A.
Speculatores had various roles within the army, acting as scouts, spies, bodyguards, couriers and law-enforcers. Celsus died in Londinium c. AD 200-300.
The original tombstone is in the British Museum.
