Coin, denarius
A base silver denarius coin, possibly of Septimius Severus, Emperor of the Roman Empire, AD 193-211. The back of the coin depicts Fortuna, the female personification of Fortune. This coin was minted in Rome, Italy, AD 197.
Obv: Laureate head of Septimius Severus(?), facing right. Obv inscription: [L SEPT SEV PERT AVG IMP X]. Rev: Fortuna, standing front, head left, holding a rudder on a globe in her right hand and a cornucopia in the left. Rev inscription: PM TR P V COS II PP.
