Coin, denarius
A silver denarius coin of Faustina the Younger, empress to Marcus Aurelius, AD 161-180. She was the daughter of Emperor Antoninus Pius, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 138-161. The back of the coin depicts Concordia, the Roman goddess of understanding and marital harmony. This coin was minted in Rome, Italy, AD 157-164.
Obv: Draped and bare-headed bust of Faustina II, facing right. Obv inscription: FAVSTINA AVGVSTA. Rev: Concordia, standing left, holding a patera (dish) in her extended right hand and a cornucopia in the left. Rev inscription: AVG[VSTI PII FIL].
