Coin, denarius
A silver denarius coin of Emperor Marcus Aurelius, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 161-180. The back of the coin depicts Pax, the Roman goddess of peace. This coin was minted in Rome, Italy, AD 165-166.
Obv: Laureate head of Marcus Aurelius, facing right. Obv inscription: M ANTONINVS AVG ARM PARTH MAX. Rev: Pax, standing left, holding a branch in her right hand and a cornucopia in the left. Rev inscription: TR P XX IMP IIII COS III, PAX in exergue. Part of a hoard from Muswell Hill, Haringey, 1928.
