Elizabeth I penny
A silver penny of Elizabeth I (1558-1603), ? issue, crowned bust left, inner and outer beaded circle, legend: E D G ROSA SINE SPINA (Elizabeth by the Grace of God a Rose without a thorn'). The reverse shows a long cross fourchee over quartered shield of arms, with the legend: CIVI TAS LON DON. ('City of London'). London Mint, possible second issue (1560-61). This coin was found in small leather pouch with other four other coins.
