Coin, drachm
A copper alloy drachm (a provincial Greek denomination) of Emperor Hadrian, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 117-138. The back of the coin depicts Euthenia, the ancient Greek personification of prosperity. This coin was minted in Alexandria, Egypt, AD 117-118.
Obv: Laureate bust of Hadrian, facing right. Obv inscription: [AVT KAIC TPAINOC] ADP[IANOC]. Rev: Euthenia, reclining left on a small sphinx, holding poppies and corn-ears. Rev inscription: LB in exergue.
