Coin, dupondius
A copper alloy dupondius coin of Emperor Hadrian, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 117-138. The back of the coin depicts Aeternitas, the female personification of eternity. This coin was minted in Rome, Italy, AD120-122.
Obv: Radiate bust of Hadrian, facing right, left shoulder draped. Obv inscription: IMP CAESAR TRAIANVS HADRIANVS AVG PM TR P COS III. Rev: Aeternitas, standing left, holding the head of Sol (the sun) in her right hand and the head of Luna (the moon) in her left hand. Rev inscription: AETERNITAS AVGVSTI, SC in field.
