Coin, denarius
A silver denarius coin of Emperor Hadrian, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 117-138. The back of the coin depicts Pietas, the female personification of dutifulness. This coin was minted in Rome, Italy, AD 118.
Obv: Laureate bust of Hadrian, facing right, left shoulder draped. Obv inscription: IMP CAESAR TRAIAN HADRIANVS AVG. Rev: Pietas, standing left, raising her right hand and holding her left hand to her breast. Rev inscription: PM TR P COS II, PIE TAS in the exergue.
