A copper alloy sestertius coin of Emperor Trajan, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 98-117. The back of the coin depicts Fortuna, the female personification of fortune. This coin was minted in Rome, Italy, AD 115-116.
Obv: Laureate head of Trajan, facing right. Obv inscription: [IMP CAES NER TRAI]ANO OPTIMO AVG GER D[AC PM TR P COS VI PP]. Rev: Fortuna, seated left, resting her feet on a low stool, holding a rudder in her right hand and a cornucopia in the left. Rev inscription: [SENATVS POPVLVSQVE ROMANVS], FOR[T RED] [SC] in exergue.
