A copper alloy as coin of Emperor Trajan, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 98-117. The back of the coin depicts Pietas, the female personification of dutifulness. This coin was minted in Rome, Italy, AD 98-99.
Obv: Laureate head of Trajan, facing right. Obv inscription: [IMP CAES NERVA TRAI]AN AVG GERM PM. Rev: Pietas, standing left, raising her right hand above and altar and holding her left hand to her breast. Rev inscription: [TR POT COS II], SC in field.
