Stone, jasper, intaglio
An unworked gemstone. A prepared jasper of oval shape with upper and lower flat surfaces (Henig Type 1). THe stone is chipped at one end and the surface is damaged. The finding of a blank stone suggests that it was part of the stock of a gem-cutter who may have had a workshop in the vicinity.
