Coin, denarius
A silver denarius coin of Emperor Vespasian, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 69-79. The back of the coin depicts Vesta, the Roman goddess of home and family. This coin was minted in Rome, Italy, AD 70-71.
Obv: Laureate head of Vespasian, facing right. Obv inscription: IMP CAES VESP AVG PM. Rev: Vesta, seated left, holding a simpulum in her extended right hand. Rev inscription:TRI POT in field. Part of a hoard from Muswell Hill, 1928.
